Peer Review Process

 

The Journal of Legal Research adopts double blind review process where both the referee and the author remain anonymous throughout the process, which is carefully monitored by the editor. Terms and conditions of peer review process are based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

 

Editor undertake editorial review to assess the quality and type of submission before sending it to the review process. Manuscripts not meeting the scientific standards will not be considered for the reviewing process. Editor will also check the readability, grammatical usage and may ask for resubmission if papers fare poorly in these parameters.

 

Editor request referees to advice on the scientific merit as well as the likely appeal the paper. Editor will be in contact with the referees once paper is sent to them, with periodic reminders of their due date.

 

Once all the reviews are done, the editor assesses the reviewer’s comments and will most likely make a decision within a day or two. The editor will then contact the corresponding author with the decision.

 

The author (s) are obliged to respond carefully to all the reviewer’s comments and send back to the journal office as soon as possible (finally one week).

 

The editor re-assesses the author's response to the reviewer's comments. If necessary, he consults with the reviewers and then makes the final decision on accepting or rejecting the article.

 

The editor is responsible for the decision to reject or recommend the manuscript for publication. This decision will be sent to the author along with any recommendations made by the reviewers.

 

All efforts are done to complete the whole process within three months from submission with the first decision on an average done within 30 days to inform the status of their article.

 

The entire review process of the articles submitted to Journal of Legal Research are done online and digitally. Authors must use the online submission system for submitting their manuscript.

 

 

Submission & Peer Review Process (Key Steps)

  • Author submits all required materials, including copyright form, and separate cover letter.

  • The submitted article is first checked by the editor(s) in terms of whether it is within the broad scope of the journal and has sufficient merit. Editor(s) also pay attention to the readability, grammar and usage before considering for formally initiating the review process. The author will be informed quickly if their paper is rejected at this stage. Also, there will be technical rejection if authors give their names and affiliations in the main manuscript, the tables and figures as indicated in the text is missing or have not followed instructions to authors.

  • After initial approval by the editor, completed submission is sent out to two or three reviewers.
  • Reviewers review the article and send it back to the editorial office for processing.

  • After initial review, Editor-in-Chief releases reviews to authors.

  • Authors are asked to respond to reviewers and make necessary corrections.

  • Article is sent out for re-review.
  • Editor-in-Chief may accept, reject, accept with minor alterations, or sent out for third review.

  • If accepted, author must submit final version. Version will be added to "in-press" queue with publisher.
  • Prior to publication, publisher will be sent galleys to authors. No edits may be made after galleys are approved.
  • Article publish in Journal of Legal Research.

  • The editing, and publishing fee by the author must be paid.

  • The author should be cooperation in editing and proofreading the article. Otherwise the article will just be accepted. Following the author's cooperation in the editorial correction, the final version of the article will be placed in the "in-press" status by the journal. The article will be published when it is time to publish.

 

 



 

 

Reviewers are asked to evaluate a manuscript for:

 

  • Originality and significance of contribution
  • Interest to social scientists and/or practitioners
  • International relevance
  • Coverage of appropriate existing literature
  • Adequacy of methodology, analysis and interpretation
  • Clear, concise and jargon-free writing style
  • Organization

 

 

Acceptance Criteria

 

  • Valid research question and hypothesis, with a relevant theory to which the research question is being posed
  • Applies correct and transparent methodology, and the study design and materials are clearly laid out
  • Language and presentation are clear and adequate, figures and tables are in line with scientific norms and standards
  • In line with the journal's author guidelines on editorial and ethical policies
  • Determined by grounding in existing literature through sufficient referencing and appropriate coverage of the relevant literature.

 

 

Rejection Criteria

 

A submission may be rejected at any stage during initial validation, peer review or final validation for the following reasons:

 

  • The manuscript does not have a valid research question or hypothesis.
  • There are clear objective errors in the methodology of the study design, data collection or analysis.
  • The manuscript does not conform to our editorial policies as it is not original, is plagiarized, or is a duplication of previous work.
  • The language and presentation of the manuscript is not of sufficient quality for a rigorous and efficient peer review to take place.
  • The study violates our ethical policies by not complying with privacy protection guidelines, ethical review board approval guidelines and internationally recognized standards for research involving humans or animals.
  • The authors have not adhered to our authorship guidelines or have fabricated, falsified data or manipulated images and figures in a deceitful manner.
  • The references are clearly biased (geographical, self-citation, school of thought) and do not reflect the current status of knowledge in the field.
  • Based on biased or faulty analyses, the study’s conclusions are misleading.
  • The study investigates a pseudoscientific research question.

  

 

Acceptance of Articles

 

- Articles must be authored, documented and analytical. Translated and reviewed articles are accepted.

- Articles have not been published before in any journal or sent to another journal at the same time.

- Articles must be submitted with the author's name, exact address, contact number and email through  the Legal Research Journal system  .

- The author (s)  endorse the obligations contained therein and the originality of the article by completing and submitting  the engagement form along with their article.

- Upload the submission form and the text of the article (without including the authors' names) prior to complying with the Institute's citation style to evaluate the subject in the journal system. After reviewing the subject of the articles by the editorial board, the responsible author (correspondent in charge) will approve or disapprove the subject within a maximum of ten days.

  • By "author" means the author who uploads the article to the system.
  • If you have not received confirmation or non-confirmation email within the stated deadline, please contact the Magazine Unit at 5 88811581-021.

- Articles must be edited and edited in accordance with the manner in which the articles of the specialized journals of this institution are arranged.

- Amount of Arbitration Fee to Current Account No. 31378000139724 to Sepah Bank of Mirza Koch Khan Branch (Index 1378) in the Name of Legal Studies and Research Institute of Danesh City (Deposited From All Sepah Bank Branches Abroad) or Saman Bank Card No. 6219861001859122 The name of the Institute for Legal Studies and Research should be uploaded and uploaded to the journal system.

- The publication of the article will be subject to its acceptance by the esteemed reviewers and final approval by the editorial board.

- The evaluation period for legal journal articles will be 2 to 3 months.
