The right to happiness and the pursuit of happiness as a universal human right has
been confirmed in human rights conventions and documents and is widely related
to other basic human rights. In this article, this right is examined in three
generations of human rights (first, second and third generations). The connection
between the right to happiness and the pursuit of happiness with other basic human
rights in these three generations shows the emphasis on various aspects of this right
and shows that it is very important to provide conditions where people can live a
satisfying and meaningful life. And this issue determines the purpose and
importance of this article. Therefore, the main question of this article is that what is
the relationship between the right to happiness and the pursuit of happiness with
other human rights in the international human rights system? The findings indicate
that the right to happiness and the pursuit of happiness as a universal human right
has been indirectly confirmed by a set of conventions and articles of international
law. This right is related to other basic human rights in various ways, including the
protection of civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights. which used the
descriptive-analytical research method.
