The issue of drugs and its use is one of the most worrying issues of the current century in all countries, and the program to combat drug addiction is on the agenda of governments and international organizations. Iran's criminal justice system also resorted to criminal and therapeutic policies, but none of them led to a reduction in consumption. Due to the failure of the aforementioned policies, today the adoption of a strategy based on the management of light drug use and harm reduction with strong economic foundations has attracted attention. The current research seeks to answer the question that the management of drug use follows what economic principles? In response, it must be acknowledged that the mentioned policy offers its untangling solutions both in the macro dimension and in the micro dimension with full knowledge. The present research will examine and analyze the economic foundations of the management of light drug abuse and compare it with other treatment and criminal policies.
